Bulk PDFs & Book Behind-the-Scenes

Writer's picture: Jacob CohenJacob Cohen

Hello everyone! Two quick bits of news for y'all.

(1) Bulk-Print PDFs

Going on a long plane flight or train ride? In the kind of mood where you just want to solve a lot of puzzles on paper at once? Hate Puzzles for Progress and want to dramatically burn all the puzzles? All your troubles will be solved by clicking this link to view bulk-print Puzzles for Progress PDFs!

Essentially, I just chunked the 120 issues of Puzzles for Progress into sets of ten and put those into PDFs. For example, here's a link to Issues #120-111, here's a link to #110-101, and you can see all the sets of ten (and answer keys) by clicking on the link above (or going to your browser and typing in tinyurl.com/bulk-print-pdfs). Issue #69 is omitted because it contains 45 puzzles, which is already a lot, frankly. (Personally, I think a set of ten is perfect for a plane flight. It's got around thirty puzzles, enough to keep you busy for many hours, but it's not too many pages that they'll take up too much space.)

(2) Book Behind-the-Scenes

Over on my blog, Chromatic Conflux, I recently published some behind-the-scenes stories about how I created and self-published my book, Best of Puzzles for Progress! (If you want to catch up on the first fifty issues of PfP, but not do the bad puzzles, the PfP book is also a good option to alleviate summer boredom.)

Well, my post is really a behind-the-scenes of a behind-the-scenes. It was for "Work-In-Progress Week," where each day I published one of my unfinished projects that I was still proud of, with commentary. Here's all of them:

Alright, that's it for today! Tomorrow I must wake up early, for I will be going aboard a sleeper train across the United States. Gotta get ready — including printing PfP #100-91, since I've forgotten how to solve my puzzles enough that they're fun again. I'm also planning to attempt Paolo Pasco's "swyftic" crossword, which is seemingly a Taylor Swift-themed cryptic, after solving this bonus puzzle (answer is this and this). Wish me luck...

Most sincerely,

Jacob
